We ask that each instructor teach a minimum of four classes per year, and we are happy to work around their availability. Our number one priority is bringing on exceptional educators, and we will do whatever scheduling flexibility is necessary to support that commitment.
Training
Backcountry Medical Training provides comprehensive instructor training to all newly hired instructors. The course includes formal classroom instruction and observation, with the majority of time dedicated to teaching alongside and mentoring with our outstanding crew.
Equipment
We provide our instructors with all the gear necessary to teach our Wilderness First Aid and Wilderness First Responder courses. We don't skimp on our student supplies from CAT tourniquets and vacuum splints, to steri-strips and bananas.
